So Why Would Apple Give Away Millions of Dollars of Music?
On September 9, 2014 Apple launched their new iPhone, Apple Pay, and their new Apple Watch in a great launch event. At the very end of the event, Apple offered U2’s new album, Songs of Innocence to anyone using iTunes, for FREE. But how did they use this as a lead magnet?
What does Apple know about giving away millions of dollars and why you should model it?
U2 is one of the biggest bands in the world and has a huge following. Apple knew offering their album on iTunes for free that they could convert a huge amount of new iTunes users. These new users will eventually buy music from iTunes. Apple created an amazing lead magnet offer.
“A lead magnet can increase a prospect’s chance of doing business with you by 100-300%”
A lead magnet (opt-in) is anything that a marketer offers a prospective customer in exchange for getting that person’s email address /contact information. If you’re reading this blog, you probably filled out one of my lead magnets like the “How to get your prospects to tell you their budget 94% of the time.”
So why did you opt-in to mine? My opt-in offers a specific desired result to a specific market.
So what could a lead magnet look like for your company?
