How To Write a Strong Marketing Proposal

By Jason Swenk on August 25, 2013

Do you struggle in creating a strong marketing proposal? Writing a winning marketing proposal is key to winning new business.

How To Write a Strong Marketing Proposal

Create a cover letter to the proposal.

Explain that you understand their problem and you have proposed a solution.  A lot of people do not spend much time on this. The hard part is getting to the proposal stage, and I treat the cover letter and the beginning of the proposal as the landing page of your site. You have to convince the reader to keep reading.

Create an Executive summary.

  1. What is the primary focus of this proposal.
  2. Explain to them that you have researched and engaged in meetings to discuss their goals and requirements.
  3. Tell them about your experience and build confidence in being able to deliver.

You’re building them up and getting them to believe you are right for them.

Start listing out the summary of your solutions and ideas.

You want to be sure not to give away a step by step approach to your ideas but you want to give them just enough information to inform them that you understand their problem and you have a solution. In this step you also want to provide any proof of your idea or solutions in the form of stats or testimonials.

Timing.

You want to set expectations of how long the engagement will be and what are the milestones of the engagement.

Measurement of results.

You want to be very specific of the outcome and how will the client measure success.

Project summary page.

Make sure to list all the services in almost a ledger style with the name and price. I would also recommend you categorize this into sections as well as one.
